There is no doubt that the entrepreneurial passion burns strong in Ontario. Small and medium-sized enterprises are the engine that drives much of Ontario's economy, creating jobs and prosperity for millions of Ontarians. Often, however, it's the nuts and bolts of business - skills such as product development, marketing strategies and financial management- that may be the limiting factor in a businessperson's ability to make the vision reality.
As its name implies, Community EFFORT is a collaborative, community-based and managed resource that channels existing economic development efforts to help local entrepreneurs:
Community EFFORT stands for Enterprise Facilitation Fusing Opportunities Resources and Talent, and is a coaching and support system for local entrepreneurs based on the Enterprise Facilitation model developed by the Sirolli Institute. It involves one-to-one coaching and support from a locally based Enterprise Facilitator working in conjunction with a local Resource Board made up of community representatives.
The Fall 2007 Community EFFORT Circular is now available to read (in PDF).
